| How can I remove moulds, mosses and algae for good? |
The procedure to resolve these situations is as follows:
1. DECONTAMINATION and CLEARING phase
Application of Bisaten Detergent, which is directly applied onto the infested wall and the surrounding area with a brush; leave to work for at least 8 hours to allow the biocidal products in the detergent to destroy the micro-organisms, after which, with the help of a brush or wet sponge, remove all the fluorescence and rinse with running water.
2. SURFACE PREPARATION phase
Using a brush, apply the Bisaten Fixative diluted with water in the ratio of 1 to 2 (2.5 l of Bisaten fixative and 5 l of water, on all the surfaces to be treated; wait about 4 hours before painting.
3. PROTECTION phase
Choose from the Bisaten Semi-Gloss version for a satin finish, the Bisaten Matt version for a matt effect like normal water paint or Bisaten 2000 which is very porous and opaque. |
| |
| Can I apply Bisaten mould-proof water paint on previously painted walls? |
| Yes, provided it is well fixed with a coat of Bisaten Fixative. |
| |
| Is it possible to combat condensation caused by heat bridges in environments such as kitchens and bathrooms? |
| Yes, by applying multiple coats of a specific product such as Bisaten Anti-Condensation composed of hollow micro spheres that give a more rustic final effect. To obtain the desired tone, just add the colour and mix well before use. |
| |
| In indoor environments how can I prevent condensation drips due to the absorption of excess humidity? |
By applying the special Bisaten Anti-Condensation coating that gives a resistant finish to both ceilings and walls in bathrooms, kitchens, breweries, food packaging companies, creameries, covered swimming pools, etc…
To optimise the mould-proof and condensation-proof effect we recommend you always apply three coats after a decontaminating treatment with Bisaten Detergent and Bisaten Fixative. |

| How can I avoid water infiltration on a terracotta balcony? |
| We recommend you clean the floor and restore the spacing with a “touch” of cement and leave to dry well; lastly treat the zone in question with multiple coats of a transparent siloxane product such as Eliosil W119 to restore resistance to water and make it hardwearing. |
| |
| Is it possible to make a balcony covered in bricks water-proof and hardwearing without changing its exterior appearance? |
We firmly recommend you make the brick surface water-proof by treating it with a saturating silicon resin as follows:
1. prepare a liquid mix of water and cement and apply using a cloth to the surface, ensuring you fill and saturate all the existing cavities, paying attention to the spacing between the bricks;
2. after completely drying, clean the excess on the surface with a dry cloth, without wetting it any further;
3. using a flat brush apply a generous coat of Eliosil W119 (transparent water-proof protection);
4. repeat the same operation multiple times until total saturation; leave the solvent to evaporate and when the resin is completely dry (3-4 days) you can verify the effectiveness of treatment using a water drop system: a meniscus forms and the brick no longer absorbs. |
| |
| How can I treat humidity caused by rain water absorption? |
| It is fundamental that you ascertain that the cause is the building support absorption and not the infiltration caused by the cracks in the plaster. In this case it is firstly necessary to restore the surface before applying any product. When this is done, we recommend you apply multiple coats of Eliosil W119 (approx ½ l m2) which is totally transparent and water-resistant and penetrates by reacting to the humidity to form an inorganic solid composition that sticks to the treated building material, becoming a unique unit |

| How can I protect the sealant on the roof of a house? |
| By applying a liquid, elastomer sheath of Eliover 080. This is a water-proof permanent plastic composed of acrylic and plastifying resins that slowly migrate to totally water-proof all the surfaces treated, whatever their nature. It resists temperatures of -30°C to + 40°C without being subject to alteration. |

| What is the best procedure to paint old wooden shutters worn over time? |
We recommend the following operating procedure:
1. remove the existing varnish by generously using Visola 1° varnish remover on the surface already placed horizontally;
2. clean the entire surface with Turpentine;
3. repair the damaged parts using Eliomastick plaster for wood and then sand;
4. apply a coat of Novalite cementite over the entire surface and sand again with fine sandpaper;
5. apply a first coat of Eliofinish One Coat synthetic varnish (in your desired colour) and after drying, give a second coat. |

| What product should I use to varnish a galvanised sheet metal window? |
The suitable product is called Eliomare 110 and is available in white, grey or red.
It is a fast drying, anti-corrosive product with a zinc phosphate base and is also suitable for light alloys and iron surfaces in general.
If used on new supports, we recommend you remove any oil before application; when treating old surfaces, you must brush down and remove the old, chipped varnish before applying the product. |

| How can I restore an old, rusty balcony that has partially chipped paint? |
Recommended operating sequence:
1. brush all the chipped varnish away;
2. use fine sandpaper to sand all the zones to varnish;
3. wash the entire surface using a cloth damped with thinner or turpentine;
4. leave to dry;
5. apply one or two coats of Eliomare 135 (rust-proof oleophenolic) to ensure considerable resistance to any chemical-physical, industrial or sea aggression, etc;
6. after completely drying (leave for at least 48 hours), apply two coats of Eliofinish One Coat varnish in the colour of your choice. |
| |
| Can I directly apply varnish to rusty iron? |
| Yes, by directly applying Eliosteel Varnish Gel onto the rusty surface. This product provides a specific finish and is innovative in the field of rust protection since it prevents the corrosion process by ensuring care over a very long time. Furthermore, it is possible to create great thicknesses without casting thanks to its controlled tixotrophy. |
| |
| How can I remove rust without manually sanding it? |
The indicated product is called Eliometal, a water based rust converter which does not form a film and eliminates the need for any manual sanding since it removes rust by chemical reaction and transforms it into a tannic-iron composition (dark dust to remove).
Recommended operating sequence for new surfaces with mill scale:
1. ease the removal of the rusty layer by applying a first coat of Eliometal converter diluted with 50% water;
2. leave for 24-48 hours and then apply the second coat of Eliometal.
Recommended operating sequence for old rusty surfaces:
1. remove the flaking rust and the chipped parts with a brush and a water jet;
2. apply one or two coats of Eliometal once the support humidifies |

| Can paint specified for “outdoor use” be applied in a house? |
| Certainly, because the term “outdoor use” on the can means a high quality product capable of resisting outdoor climatic conditions. |
| |
| Can I cover patching with a LiVigni finish facade? |
The covering of difficult, partial intervention can be perfectly obtained because it depends on the different compactness of material used and as a result its level of absorption.
You have two possibilities, one is more time consuming than the other which includes the use of completely smoothening the plaster and then painting with quartz flour or outdoor washable paint;
You can use a partial procedure that includes the use of an acrylic, solvent primer over the entire surface and two coats of quartz flour Antico Rivestimento Centro Storico; any possible imperfections will be camouflaged and only visible when light is on it. |
| |
| Can I cover cracks in an external facade subject to rain water infiltration? |
The best solution would be to re-do the plaster.
However, to fill it in you can use a partial paint (upon using a line covering bandage strip like that used for plasterboard) and then completely paint the facade with two coats of New Plastic thick plastic coating with high mechanical and protective features that give perfect water-proofing to the support. |
| |
| How can I treat cracks and deep lines on walls, caused by earthquakes? |
It is important to carefully assess the cracks with a dovetail rake to open them further and fill them with strong, flexible plaster, such as Stuck 84, passing over the cracks two or three times.
When dry, proceed to smoothen the surface by applying a strip of special paper (like that used for plasterboard spacing) above the crack line and then move on to the colouring phase with Alcalin Resistente Sigillo Oro if you want highly washable and water-proof paint which can be easily repainted or using Bisaten to stop the possible formation of moulds. |

| How can I paint the facade of a very old building? |
Since the facade is old, you must use Eliogum Primer fixative with solvent which can dissolve oily substances deposited over time. It is also suitable for flaky, dusty supports, as well as firming old paint.
Once you have done this, you can being the decorative effect of the walls using Antico Rivestimento Centro Storico with water composed of finely ground quartz sand, which is particularly indicated for the restoration of old buildings or new ones where a highly resistant coating is required against more aggressive atmospheric agents, as well as excellent colour retention. |
| |
| How can I “freshen up” walls blackened by chimney soot? |
By applying the Eliogum Smoke-Proof wall paint with solvent which is transparent and easily covers surfaces blackened by soot, smog or warm air.
If the walls in question are new, we recommend, after brushing down the entire surface, to apply the first coat of paint directly.
If the supports were already painted, you should proceed in the following way:
1. remove the flaking residue;
2. plaster any possible imperfections with the special plaster paste filler Stuck 81;
3. pass back over any plastered areas with a coat of Eliogum Smoke-Proof diluted with 10% Turpentine or Thinner 622;
4. paint the entire surface in white or with Eliolux max 2% glaze. |
